Copenhagen Strand - Copenhagen - Denmark
In July 2000 The Arp-Hansen Hotel Group opened its 8th hotel: Copenhagen Strand. The hotel is centrally located in the fashionable quarter in the heart of Copenhagen - around the Nyhavn Canal, The Royal Theatre and Kongens Nytorv. The exclusive 3-star hotel is situated on the waterfront in one of the harbour's original warehouses. The building dates back to 1869 and through the years it has, for instance, housed a cardboard box factory and a paper mill. The old buildings are beautifully and carefully restored, and the decor is rustic and maritime, making it one of Copenhagen's most charming hotels with a fantastic atmosphere. Copenhagen Strand is easily reached from anywhere: It is close to trains and busses, the airport and the ?resund Bridge, and the flying boats to Sweden leaves practically from outside your door.

Karen Blixen Museum - Copenhagen - Denmark
Karen Blixen, one of Denmark's great writers, who first achieved fame in America and eventually throughout most of the World, spent the greater part of her life in Rungstedlund. Here she was born in 1885 and here she died in 1962. For seventeen years she lived on a coffe plantation in Kenya. In 1921, after eight years of marriage, she separated from her Swedish husband, Baron Bror von Blixen-Finecke and took over responsibility for running the farm. But in 1930 the family-holding that owned it, decided to give up the unprofitable business and the following year Karen Blixen had to return home to Denmark and move in with her mother at Rungstedlund. When her mother died in 1939, Karen Blixen became mistress of the house and could renovate the home according to her taste.

Krenborg Castle - Copenhagen - Denmark
Behind the walls of Kronborg Casttle dwells the story of Hamlet - prince of Denmark. To many people this is as genuine and closely related to the castle as are the historical persons who actually have lived in Kronborg. But - alas - Hamlet is only alive as a character in the play by William Shakespeare. Numerous stagings of the play - on the castle and many other places - have kept the myth alive since the 17.th century. Hence is Kronborg known as Hamlets Castle, and Elsinore as Hamlets town throughout the world.
