When the Grand Opera House opened its doors for the first time to the public on 23 December 1895, it was an important date for the city of Belfast, then in its Victorian heyday. J W Warden, who built the Grand Opera House, knew his public and knew his business. As Northern Ireland's premier theatre, the Grand Opera House brings world class entertainment to Northern Ireland, including theatre, musicals, opera, ballet, comedy, concerts and pantomime.
