Cardo - Jerusalem

Cardo. The Cardo, an archaeological site, was the main street of Jerusalem in the days of the Romans. There are excavations & articles found from the different periods.These remains of a Roman road laid down in the 6th century CE, include fragments of Israelite walls, a tower, ruins of Byzantine and Crusader structures and relics of "Nea" Church. Restored and opened to the public, it has a shopping center with some exclusive boutiques.
