Established in 1862, the National Museum of Health and Medicine uses photographs, artifacts and anatomical specimens to give visitors a peek down the halls of medical history. Visitors will see a real brain, a smoker's lung, the bullet that took President Abraham Lincoln's life and the world's first microscopes. Other features include a hologram and interactive computer stations that view the human body from a 3-D perspective and count your heartbeats since birth. Open daily 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Closed Christmas. Admission and parking free.
