Mozart Memorial - Vienna - Austria
Previous Next
The sculptor Viktor Tilgner, creator of the Mozart. In this 17th-century residence, Mozart spent what were purportedly the happiest years of his life ( 1784-1787 ; this was the longest he ever resided at one apartment ); he composed his opera The Marriage of Figaro here. For this reason, the house is also called Figaro House. The building is private property; Mozart's apartment has been turned into a small museum, which is administered by the City of Vienna. The entrance is at Domgasse 5.
