Wasaga Beach - Northern Ontario
Previous Next
WASAGA BEACH. Wasaga Beach, 14 kilometers of sandy coastline along Georgian Bay, is believed to be one of the world's longest freshwater beaches, but this matters little to those who come each summer to bask in the sun or swim, sail and fish in the bay. Before it became a summer resort, Wasaga Beach was an important transportation route and the last part of the Nine Mile Portage canoe route, a vital supply route during the War of 1812.
