Church of Lutheran - Jerusalem
A monastery famous for its wine, gardens & architecture. It was founded in 1890 by the French Trappist order of monks as a contemplative monastery. It is now widely renowned for its wine, as well as its lovely location, architecture and gardens. The winemaking started in 1899. The monks reclaimed and cultivated the Land and planted olive groves, grain fields and vegetable gardens as well as the vineyards. In the rocky areas, pine trees and cypresses were chosen. In World War 1 the monks were expelled by the Turks, but they were able to return, and in 1926 the present monastery was constructed. Visitors are welcome to enjoy the gardens, the architecture and to buy the wine, spirits, vermouths and the olive oil produced here.

Mea Shearim - Jerusalem
This ultra-orthodox Jewish district is a rare example of Jewish quarters (ghetto) which existed before the Holocaust in eastern European communities. It is just to the north of the downtown area and was established in 1875. Mea She'arim in Hebrew is ""a hundredfold"", and is taken from genesis 26:12, referring to Isaac farming the land and being blessed a hundredfold. Walking these streets is usually an eye-opener: the residents mostly dress in 18th-century east European styles. They are mainly devoted to religious study and are often financed by fellow ultra-orthodox communities abroad.
