Ledreberg Castle - Copenhagen - Denmark
Ledreborg has been described as, ""The most romantic privately owned palace in Denmark"". It is one of Denmark's finest examples of 18th century building and landscape architecture. It was founded in 1742 when as Lord Chamberlain to Christian VI Count Johan Ludvig Holstein created Ledreborg in its present form. Ledreborg which is situated just west of the Danish capital Copenhagen has now been the home of the Holstein-Ledreborg family for over 250 years. The main building contains a unique collection of paintings and furniture, which has remained virtually unchanged since Ledreborg was built. Looking out of the south facing door, one is greeted by a spectacular view, a sudden drop into a small valley which has been transformed into an elaborate terraced garden in the 18th century French style, set in a 80 hectare (190 acre) wooded river valley park.

Museum of Archeology & History - Montreal
Museum of Archeology & History. This museum is designed to present the rich history of the quarter in which it's located - the small triangle of land where Montreal was born, where the Saint Pierre River joins the St. Lawrence. The museum is composed of three parts. The modern structure encloses permanent and temporary exhibit halls and features a multimedia presentation. The crypt, under the Place Royal square, provides a setting for the display of articles recovered during various archaeological digs. The neoclassical Old Customs House (1838) dominating Place Royale houses a permanent exhibit on 19th- and 20th-century Montreal history.

Penn's Landing - Philadelphia
Penn's LandingThe area today known as Penn's Landing stretches along the Delaware River for about 10 blocks from Vine Street to South Street, and encompasses the spot where William Penn, Philadelphia's founder, first touched ground in his ""greene country towne."" After Penn's arrival, this area quickly became the center of Philly's maritime soul and the city's dominant commercial district. Today, however, Penn's Landing is a riverside park and the place where Philadelphians gather in the summer to hear music and on December 31 to usher in the New Year.

Pont Neuf - Paris
Seine River and Pont Neuf. The first stone of the ""Pont Neuf"" was laid in 1578, but the work was completed only in 1604. Contrary to all architectural and structural considerations, it is now the most famous bridge in Paris for in fact it is two spans each anchored on the tip of the Isle de la Cit?. For its time it was quite wide, constructed to house rows of shops, but in the the end Henri IV granted permission for transient commerce only.
